Bermudagrass has an aggressive growth habit, with rhizomes and stolons allowing the grass to grow both laterally and vertically. We are cleaning up cart path edges today, removing all of the excess material from summer growth of the bermudagrass. This detail work is time consuming but worth the effort to maintain nice sharp edges and overall appearance. We are also working on bunker detail, removing weeds, pushing up sand on bunker faces that sloughs off due to irrigation water, wind, and traffic. Removing large rocks that are brought up from underneath, edging, and fly mowing the surrounds.
Bunkers here at Conestoga require a lot of maintenance with the steep slopes, lack of entrance points for the sandpro, and no bunker liner to prevent contamination of sands. We do our best to keep them looking clean and playable.
