We had a cold spell for a few weeks, but with this warmer weather for the last week or so, the grass is growing vigorously! We are topdressing greens today to help with diluting the thatch and organic matter build up during the growing season, and to help smooth out the putting surface as well. Temps are forecasted to drop soon, and topdressing will cease when bermudagrass goes fully dormant, and thatch dilution is not a concern. We typically pick the topdressing back up between March and April dependent upon weather.

We are also spraying a fungicide behind the topdress and watering it in down to the root zone as a preventative disease measure, and to help the bermudagrass go into dormancy nice and healthy. Finally, we are working on a drainage project on #2, as the drainage is not working properly. The bunker and approach flood when heavy water is applied, or after rain events. Pictures and more detail will follow once we find the source of the problem.
