Making the most out of a frosty situation

Frost delays can be a nuisance. Re organizing the morning maintenance plans on a daily basis is not my favorite thing to do, but it can help with getting much needed work done throughout the golf course. Usually our day consists of mowing, cleaning, and setting up the golf course first thing ahead of play, and trying to get clean-up work and side projects done for the last hour or two in between play. It’s difficult to be as efficient as possible while avoiding golfers and watching over your shoulder. When the grass is frozen or too frosty to drive on without causing damage, we are able to twist our schedule around to do landscape work, tree trimming, and much needed general clean-up work out of the way of golf and customers.
We use these undesirable frosty mornings to team up on clean-up projects, and work on areas outside the grass lines until we are able to begin our down the middle set up. Today, we spent some time cleaning up the entry way to the clubhouse. Our mascot Kubota, is always lending a helping hand and keeping an eye on the task at hand.
