Along with the day to day maintenance practices of mowing, course set up, fertilizer applications, and landscape work, we run into a lot of issues that are not visible to many golfers. A huge part of maintaining a golf course in the southwest desert region is irrigation. Maintaining a properly functioning irrigation system is essential. Daily checking and adjusting of irrigation heads, proper watering intervals and frequencies to maintain proper soil moisture, and constant monitoring of the system to ensure adequate function are just some of the aspects involved. With an aging golf course, there are many more problems that start to present themselves, and we do our best to get them taken care of out of the way of golf. Line breaks and irrigation head issues are some of the more frequent occurrences.
